Who Is Peace?
What does the word “church” mean to you?
For us at Peace Lutheran Church it means “people.” To be surrounded by people equally in need of and equally fulfilled by the grace of God.
For us it means “peace.” To know that the peace Jesus won for us on the cross exists despite our mistakes and faults and will continue to be ours forever.
For us it means “mission.” To live to gather, grow, and go with the one source of meaningful lasting truth in this world: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
With these definitions of “church” in mind, a handful of local Christians began the ministry of Peace in the south Gilbert and Chandler areas in the summer of 2013. This ministry was formed in partnership with our national church body, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). It was in April of 2014 that Peace Lutheran Church opened its doors for public worship, and the people of Peace have enjoyed what “church” can really mean ever since.
Peace Lutheran Church may be a young church, but we believe “church” can mean the same to you as it does to us. Please plan a visit with us on any Sunday at 9:30 am or contact Pastor Mark to learn more about how you can grow with God and others at Peace. You are also welcome to check out our “opportunities” page to explore some aspects of our ministry for yourself.
We hope to have the opportunity to get to know you better and for you to get know the peace of Jesus better soon!
